We (Taylor and Katie Schmidt) and our seven children moved to Peru from Brillion, Wisconsin. After years of prayer and discernment the Holy Spirit guided us into mission work. We sold everything we owned and moved to Peru to begin our new life.
While it hasn’t always been easy… being so far from home, so far from everything we ever knew life to be. But the Lord is SO good! He has showered us with countless blessings in the people we have met and has put in our lives. Life is so much more than we could have ever imagined.
We are surrounded by loving, amazing people that have welcomed us into their community, homes, and lives.
We have a “mission family” back home in Brillion. We are reminded of them daily (not only because we miss them), but our mission building, multiple churches, water systems, roads, the very roof over our heads would not exist without them.
Without them, without you, nothing would be possible. You bring hope to thousands of people and that is a testament to our Faith and being a part of the Body of Christ.
Coming from a farming community we knew we could find things in common with the our new community.
From a tent without electricity to a small home on the missionary grounds, Peru is home.
We've been so fortunate to be welcomed into a community filled with faith, love, and selfless spirit.
